Journalism and publishing

Tony Mallett has been a professional journalist for more than two decades, editing several local papers, freelancing for ‘nationals’, and heading up the production department, more recently, on two Brussels-based international publications.

Aside from undertaking freelance journalism work and being a partner in Sinergy, he also publishes and edits a leisure magazine, under the company’s umbrella.

He also has considerable experience in conference and event promotion using media marketing.

An established member for seven years of the largest permanently based press corps in the world, his knowledge and contacts in European printed media are second to none.

Promotion, marketing and publishing

Lee Ober has lived in Europe for almost a decade, five of those years in the Czech Republic where he published a successful magazine before relocating to Brussels with his diplomat wife.

As well as a newspapers and magazine background as a freelance, he has worked extensively with advertising agencies, PR companies, lobbying groups and EU institutions.

This experience allowed the development of key writing, article placement and language-service skills.

As one recent example, Lee’s varied abilities led him to play a key role in the launch and promotion of a unique musical charity project, several concerts and Sinergy’s own magazine, UP Front. As well as on the latter, he works alongside Tony in various journalistic projects.

Extra staff

Sinergy has access to a vast number of journalists, many experts in particular fields. We also have swift access to professional photographers, designers, translators and legal media advice.

Work in Progress

Multo Bene
Sinergy has put together, and is currently updating, a three-year marketing strategy (involving both editorial coverage and advertising placement) for an exciting new project. This involves a soon-to-be-built multiplex conference and leisure centre to be located on a prime site in Benelux.

State of Independence

Material for the latest edition of the European Parliament’s Independence and Democracy group’s December newsletter is now on Sinergy’s desktops. This, the third such publication in 2008, will go to print before the end of December.

Lights Out

'Smoking Cessation – Helping Europe to Quit' was the topic of a high-profile dinner debate held in the European Parliament recently. Sinergy put together the leaflet, invitation and the accompanying brochure. We did exactly the same for a November SEAPS conference.
